A Leader in Eye Surgery
Dr. John R. Kearney has been a pioneer in eye surgery for more than 50 years. In fact, the board-certified ophthalmologist is credited with introducing the advanced small incision “no-stitch” cataract surgery and lens implant techniques to the New England area. He also developed “Canaloplasty”, a surgical cure for glaucoma. Dr. Kearney is nationally and world renowned for his expertise, and has served as the president and chairman of the American Board of Eye Surgeons (Past President), the American College of Eye Surgeons, the Society for Excellence in Eyecare, founder and president of the Irish American Ophthalmological Society, the American Radial Keratotomy Society, president of the Fulton County Medical Society and vice-president of the Society of Geriatric Ophthalmology. He has been recognized by patients and peers alike for his technologically advanced approach to eye surgery. Dr. Kearney is regularly asked to speak about and teach surgical techniques to eye surgeons around the world. Unfortunately, Dr. Kearney ceased performing surgery during the Covid-19 crisis when his operating crew dispersed to other locations. However, he guides his patients to the best eye surgeons for their particular needs.

Community is a cornerstone of Sacandaga Eyecare. Dr. Kearney is the only ophthalmologist who lives in our upstate New York communities and our entire staff lives, dines, shops and worships within our communities.

Housed within the Sacandaga Eyecare, C3 Medical Spa offers a variety of non-surgical cosmetic treatments designed to help you look your best. Our medical spa director, Lynda L. Kearney, RPA-C, and the rest of our team offer the following services:
- Botox to minimize noticeable crow’s feet and other wrinkles around the forehead and eyebrows
- Facial fillers, including products from the Juvederm family, Voluma, and Volbella, to soften facial lines and folds and restore youthful-looking volume to the face
